A Wondering and Wandering Mind

When my brittle brain doesn’t have the thought “what do I possibly have to offer to the opposite sex?,” I like to ponder other things. If you have plenty of spare time on your hands, consider these questions that have formulated either in or near Apartment 102.

What will happen first: Legalized recreational marijuana or a college football playoff?

It is surprising that both of these aren’t in effect already. Time will change this eventually, but it’s a matter of which will happen first. Through careful consideration, I think college football will adopt a playoff system in the nearer future. The reason I came to this conclusion is that ends of college football seasons come up more often then election cycles. The debates will happen every bowl season as opposed to November every 2nd or 4th year

Is a city bus driver less likely or as likely to stop at your bus stop if you hold out your thumb as if you were hitchhiking?

It should be noted that the choices here are less likely or AS likely, not more likely. Some of Lansing’s Capital Area Transit Authority’s bus drivers neglect to stop if their bus is only kind of full. I can see them completely blowing by if I stick out my thumb like an asshole- er… hitchhiker.

When someone rates something on a scale of 1 to 10, what rating is given more often: 10 or a number higher than 10?

When people want to emphasize something great, like a raging kegger, a Blake Griffin dunk, or the sound of my singing voice, I would think that people tend to give a rating higher than a perfect 10. My hypothesis is that a lot of people think giving an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 is wildly creative, like making a Facebook status that reads “Dear [annoyance], Please [stop being annoying]. Sincerely, [name].” It’s a form of unoriginal innovation. I may have to run some numbers and conduct further research. I’ll get back to you when my mind sorts it out.
